Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel, where you will transfer to Hurghada Airport. Following a short flight to Cairo, your tour will commence. This tour will take in some of the highlights of Cairo, with lunch served at a local restaurant. The Giza Plateau is one of the most important tourist sites in Egypt and has a long history. The Giza Pyramids are a complex of ancient Egyptian royal mortuary and sacred structures. You will marvel at the wonderous Great Pyramid of Khufu, which is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to remain largely intact.
The pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure create a landscape unparalleled in the Middle East. You will also explore the mysterious Sphinx, which is believed to guard the pyramids. To the south of the Sphinx lies the cemetery and town of the Pyramid Builders, which is being excavated to this day. The pyramids are a remarkable feat of engineering. But still, the question as to why the pyramids were constructed and how they were made is debated.
The Egyptian Museum. No trip to Cairo is complete without a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. The museum is the first purpose-built museum edifice in the world. Displayed over two floors and numerous rooms it houses the world's largest collection of artifacts dating from the prehistoric through to the Roman periods, with the majority of the collection focused on the pharaonic era.
Khan el Khalili: We will end the tour with a visit to the largest bazaar (souk) in the Middle East, It represents the market tradition that established Cairo as a major trade center. The popular bazaar of Khan el Khalili has a large selection of shops, workshops and coffee shops and is famous for its herbs, spices, leather goods, and a very large range of incense. Finally, return to Cairo airport for your flight to Hurghada, your day ends with a hotel drop-off.
